Dr. Sheila LaRussa (Dr. Shei)
Dr. Shei LaRussa is a bilingual veterinarian with a passion for personalized, compassionate care. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, she moved to Auburn in 2013 to pursue her studies, earning both her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University.

With advanced training in cardiology diagnostics and a strong clinical focus in soft tissue surgery, ultrasonography, oncology, dermatology, dentistry, and end-of-life care, Dr. Shei brings depth and heart to every patient interaction. She believes deeply in individualized care that strengthens the human-animal bond.
She and her husband, fellow veterinarian Dr. Taylor LaRussa, live in Birmingham with their two children—Sofia and Nico—and a beloved crew of six pets.

Dr. Taylor LaRussa is a Birmingham native and graduate of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a Master’s in Science from Auburn, where he also met his wife, Dr. Shei.

Dr. Taylor is passionate about building lasting relationships with pet families through education and transparent communication. His clinical interests include surgery, internal and preventive medicine, radiology and ultrasonography, pain management, holistic care, and low-stress, fear-free handling.
He and Dr. Shei live in Birmingham with their two kids, Sofia and Nico, and a joyful household of pets: three standard poodles, a Siberian Husky, a toy poodle, and a very patient cat named Kitty.
